Key Responsibilities
* Draft BAT Conclusions and liaise with Technical Working Groups.
* Present final documents suitable for publication as a new, UK‑wide environmental standard for industry.
* Work with, and write technical documents that meet regulatory and industry requirements.
* Apply good project management skills and drive to complete deliverables on time.
* Maintain relationships with stakeholders across industry, government and the public.
Required Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years of working experience in the slaughterhouse and animal by‑products industry.
* Specialist knowledge of process engineering and environmental issues.
* Solid understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation (e.g., IED, Environmental Permitting Regulations).
* Critical analysis of technical arguments and data.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Planning, prioritising and organising tasks to ensure timely and effective results.
Additional Capabilities
* Collect and technically analyse complex industrial data.
* Understand the implications of BAT Conclusions in permits and on industry and the environment.
* Build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Adapt communication style to different audiences and contexts.
Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
