Adults Safeguarding Lawyers (x2)
Location: Ilford area
Contract: 6 months
Rate: £378.73 per day (Inside IR35) / £7,574.60 per month
Two experienced Adults Safeguarding Lawyers are required to support a local authority legal service based in the Ilford area on a six‑month interim basis.
This is an opportunity to work within a busy adult social care legal team, providing high‑quality advice on safeguarding and Court of Protection matters.
Role Overview
The successful candidates will provide a comprehensive and professional legal service across all aspects of adult social care law and act as a key source of legal expertise within the service.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing legal advice, guidance and practical assistance across Adult Social Care services
* Managing Court of Protection work, including complex and sensitive matters
* Advising on ordinary residence, duties under the Care Act 2014, local government law and judicial review proceedings
* Conducting a full range of adults’ services cases, including those raising complex or significant issues
* Undertaking advocacy in the Courts and Tribunals where rights of audience permit
* Preparing cases end to end, including reviewing evidence, drafting applications, reports and court documentation
* Handling child protection matters where required, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx
* Demonstrable experience in Adult Social Care and safeguarding law
* Strong Court of Protection experience
* Ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision in a local authority setting
