About EUSA

Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA) is a student‑run charity that provides support and services to over 49,500 students at the University of Edinburgh.


Position Overview

The Officer (Peer Support) will empower students to take a holistic and autonomous approach to community building and lead the development of peer‑led activity across the Association and the wider university environment.


Key Responsibilities

* Support school‑based peer support programmes in line with EUSA’s methodologies.
* Lead the annual distribution of grants to students via the Student Opportunities Development Fund.
* Develop evidence‑based guides to support student‑led community building and wellbeing activities.
* Collaborate with departmental colleagues to empower students to lead community building initiatives (Blether Together).
* Work with student sabbatical officers, staff, and the wider student body to plan events such as Welcome Week, Careers Fairs, National Volunteering Week, Give it a Go, and Student Awards.
* Review EUSA’s contribution to peer mentoring programmes across the university and manage associated change‑management plans.
* Contribute to broader support for a variety of student groups, enhancing the overall student experience.


Working Conditions

Hours: 37.5 per week.
Contract: Salaried — Permanent.
Hybrid working – up to 40% remote.


Compensation and Benefits

* Salary: £29,280 – £30,190 (Band C)
* 35 days annual holiday entitlement

Qualifications

• Confident project worker with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and IT skills.
• Proven track record supporting peer‑support opportunities for young adults.
• Natural people‑person with on‑the‑spot problem‑solving, calmness under pressure, and a warm, professional approach.
• High personal and team expectations, passion for supporting student development, and commitment to service excellence.
