Working Hours: Mon - Fri (7am - 4pm) - on call 1 in 5
Salary: up to £45,200 dependant upon skills and experience
Role Summary
Join our healthcare facility's engineering team as a M&E Technician. You'll maintain, repair, and ensure safe operation of mechanical systems including HVAC, boilers, and plumbing. Key duties include Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), fault diagnosis, blockage clearance, and performing Authorised Person (AP) and Competent Person (CP) tasks. On-call rotation participation and ongoing training are required.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform PPM and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems.
* Diagnose and resolve faults quickly to reduce downtime.
* Clear blockages in plumbing and drainage systems.
* Carry out AP and CP duties ensuring compliance with safety standards.
* Participate in a 1-week monthly on-call rota.
* Attend training to maintain and develop skills.
* Comply with Health & Safety regulations and complete risk assessments.
* Collaborate with teams to support smooth operations.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
* Experience as a Mechanical Technician, preferably in healthcare or critical infrastructure.
* Skilled in HVAC, plumbing, boilers, and mechanical systems maintenance.
* Competent in AP and CP duties with strong safety awareness.
* Good problem-solving and communication skills; able to work independently and in teams.
Desirable:
* Mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
* Experience in healthcare environments.
* Valid driving license if site access requires.
Physical Requirements:
* Able to lift equipment and work in confined spaces and at heights.
