We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong leadership experience to take ownership of a busy finance department, managing UK and overseas teams while delivering accurate, insightful financial reporting to support business growth.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function, managing a UK-based team and coordinating with overseas finance teams and outsourced providers. This role combines hands-on financial management with strategic input, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting, and effective cashflow management.
You'll produce monthly management accounts, forecasts, and Board packs, lead the year-end audit, and review processes to drive efficiency and improve controls.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance and collaboration.
* Deliver accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts, and insightful Board reporting.
* Manage cashflow, banking relationships, and credit control.
* Lead the annual audit and ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and statutory requirements.
* Build strong relationships with overseas teams to ensure timely consolidated reporting.
* Review and enhance processes to improve efficiency and strengthen controls.
* Support budgeting, asset management, and financing activities.
What We're Looking For:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience.
* Proven track record managing a finance team in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
* Strong analytical and commercial acumen with excellent attention to detail.
* Confident communicator, able to partner with stakeholders at all levels.
* Hands-on leader with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
* Knowledge of FinancialForce (desirable but not essential).
