Founding Marketing Lead (Part-Time, Equity Only)

About the Role

Syndi is building a new way to play the National Lottery — centred around community, trust, and shared play. We’re an early-stage startup founded by ex-Meta / Google operators, and the product is ready to scale.

We’re hiring a Founding Marketing Lead to drive 0→1 user acquisition.

This is a hands-on execution role — you will define the strategy and deliver it yourself.

Responsibilities

* Define and execute user acquisition strategy across paid, organic, influencer, and grassroots channels
* Set and own KPIs (CAC, conversion, activation, early retention)
* Build and optimise the full marketing funnel (awareness → consideration → conversion → retention)
* Launch and manage paid campaigns (Meta, TikTok, etc.)
* Create and ship content (ads, social, landing pages)
* Own the marketing calendar and ensure consistent, high-quality output
* Lead creative direction — strong visual identity, premium feel, clear messaging
* Develop high-performing hooks and messaging angles
* Create and optimise UGC-style content that converts
* Run rapid experiments and iterate based on performance
* Build and test micro-influencer / creator channels
* Work closely with UX and copy to improve conversion and positioning

Requirements

* 6+ years experience in B2C / consumer marketing with a focus on acquisition and growth
* Strong grounding in consumer behaviour and insights
* Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Psychology, or related field (preferred)
* Proven track record of delivering measurable impact (clear metrics, not just activity)
* Strong understanding of the full marketing funnel
* Hands-on experience with paid social and performance marketing (e.g. Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager)
* Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g. Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social)
* Experience with email marketing and CRM tools (e.g. Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot)
* Proficiency with creative and design tools (e.g. Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator or similar)
* Strong execution ability — able to plan and deliver campaigns, content, and calendars consistently
* Strong communication skills — clear, persuasive, audience-aware
* Ability to create compelling hooks and high-converting messaging
* Deep understanding of UGC and social-native content
* Experience with influencer / creator marketing (micro-influencers)
* Understanding of gambling / iGaming / lottery dynamics (or strong curiosity)
* Comfortable working in a fast-moving, early-stage environment

* Able to operate independently without heavy structure
* Likely under-leveraged in your current role and looking to prove impact
* Motivated by taking something from 0→1 and then 1→100

Compensation
