Job Opportunity: Field Service Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing global engineering company specializing in equipment for the food and beverage industry. Due to significant growth, our client is seeking a full-time, Field Service Engineer to join their expanding team.
Location: Central UK, at our client offices.
Role Overview: The role involves completing field installations, maintaining and repairing electro-mechanical food processing and beverage equipment, and providing ongoing service support to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the service team to deliver on-site installation and technical support.
2. Respond to breakdown calls and perform planned maintenance.
3. Ensure electrical fittings and wiring meet safety standards.
4. Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with procedures.
5. Perform final tests on work completed and address faults.
6. Handle communications with customers, suppliers, and colleagues professionally.
7. Accurately record activities using company documentation.
8. Manage company vehicle, tools, and stock responsibly.
9. Use performance data to improve operational effectiveness.
10. Prepare customer visit reports via the company's software system.
11. Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety policies.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in fault diagnosis and maintenance of electromechanical equipment, ideally with FMCG/automation machinery.
* HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification, preferably with an electrical focus.
* Experience with 3-phase and single-phase systems and strong fault diagnosis skills.
* Flexibility to work occasional unscheduled hours.
* A clean driving license (maximum of 3 points).
* Strong interpersonal skills and prior experience in a customer-facing field service role.
Salary & Benefits:
The salary range for this position is £35,000 - £40,000 OTE, up to £50K, plus a company van, laptop, and mobile phone for candidates who meet all key qualifications and abilities.
