As the Associate Head of Governance, you will be responsible for ensuring that secondary care objectives, which drive high standards of patient care and operational sustainability, are achieved through the implementation of proportionate and effective governance processes. This is a central, part-time role (20 hrs per week) that involves smart working to manage time effectively. You will be expected to make the best use of meetings and Teams calls where appropriate. There will also be an expectation to travel within the UK with frequent overnight stays.

What you'll be doing
You will oversee secondary care governance in collaboration with the Head of Patient Safety & the Patient Safety Specialist. Success will be measured by achievement of central governance KPIs, timely responses for PSII sign-offs, and identification and action planning for trends and themes that pose risks to patient safety. What we'll look for in you
* Thorough knowledge of governance processes and their application
* Clinical professional registration (e.g., RN adult register, ODP)
* Experience leading a team, preferably within healthcare
* Experience working with SOPs and assessing their effectiveness
* Experience using Datix and risk assessment tools
* Experience presenting to staff groups and senior management
* Policy development skills
* Strong analysis and triangulation skills for governance-related action plans
* Excellent report writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to develop training strategies and resources
* Process mapping skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
* Previous experience with Datix or similar risk management software
