Professional Services Account Manager at Venesky-Brown Recruitment
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a People and Wellbeing partner for an initial 3 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £20.22/hour PAYE. This is a hybrid role with occasional day in the office required.
Responsibilities
* Support the client in day‑to‑day generalist support providing professional, effective and holistic human resources service across key areas such as health, safety and wellbeing
* Build partnership and trust with staff, panel, and board members
* Provide professional early advice and support in line with legislative and best practice guidance through one‑to‑one support and training, offering creative solutions to people issues at earliest opportunity
* Draft and create policies and procedures in line with legislation and best practice, adding them to our library to support our work and embed our values
* Support the Head of People in wellbeing framework with creative, innovative solutions and activities to build a culture of self‑care, work‑life balance and trauma‑informed practice
* Maintain accurate records, extract data, prepare reports and analysis with recommendations linked to continuous improvement
* Take overall responsibility for achieving own aims and objectives and identify gaps and opportunities for improving team effectiveness
* Network effectively with external agencies and partners to procure necessary people support and information
* Coordinate case management for people issues, ensuring effective support in employee relations, absence management, support, appraisals, performance management, recruitment, health and safety, working closely with stakeholders and third‑party providers
* Support change management processes, prepare reports and business cases, draft correspondence, and attend meetings to take minutes for people case work
* Apply openness and transparency to all processes and controls: financial, procurement, people management and professional boundaries
* Build relationships with external providers and support external processes such as pensions, occupational health, employee assistance and benefits platforms
* Work digitally and keep own skills up to date with technology to ensure efficient and consistent support, including our HR system – people first
* Handle sensitive issues with sensitivity and confidentiality
* Work flexibly to meet role demands
* Provide professional guidance and support to line managers in wellbeing, health and safety, conduct, capability, absence management, recruitment, employee surveys and benefit entitlement processes
* Manage complex people issues and case management with effective and supportive conclusion in line with good practice, legislative guidance and values
* Demonstrate organisational skills: writing reports, policies, benchmarking with other providers to be an employer of choice
* Excel in IT: Word, Excel, Access; adapt to bespoke systems and digital technologies to support hybrid working
* Train others in people processes, building confidence and capability to support the organisation proactively
* Engage people to listen, learn, and continuously improve work processes
* Travel to other locations when required
* Work as part of a team, communicate well, and respond to tasks, projects and challenges with flexibility
* Use strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring values throughout
* Develop understanding of trauma and its impact on people, and have resilience to cope with historical abuse experiences
* Hold relevant qualification in Personnel Management or equivalent experience
* Be a CIPD member or demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development and CPD
* Build effective relationships by networking, listening and understanding specific needs to address them appropriately
* Have reliable Wi‑Fi connectivity and a private place to work from home due to the nature of work
* Possess a general understanding of residential child care and education, and experience working with survivors of historical abuse in care
Qualifications
* Relevant qualification in Personnel Management or equivalent experience
* Member of CIPD or demonstrated commitment to CPD
* Experience of training others in people processes
* Experience of handling complex people issues and case management
* Excellent organisational and IT skills
* Travel flexibility and private home working environment
