As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining embedded software solutions for a diverse range of Tracerco UK’s measurement devices and systems.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain embedded software solutions for Tracerco UK’s measurement devices and systems, ensuring high quality, reliability, and performance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, to define software requirements and specifications.
* Design, develop, and debug embedded software code using C/C++ programming languages.
* Conduct thorough testing and verification of software functionality to ensure compliance with design specifications.
* Investigate and troubleshoot software defects and issues, providing timely resolutions and implementing corrective actions.
* Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
* Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in embedded software development.
Qualifications/ Skills Required:
* HNC or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
* Proven experience in embedded software development, preferably in the measurement or instrumentation industry.
* Proficiency in the C programming language.
* Strong understanding of real-time operating systems and microcontrollers.
* Experience with software development tools, such as compilers, debuggers, and version control systems.
* Familiarity with communication protocols, such as UART, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet.
* Knowledge of embedded software development best practices.
* Knowledge of and experience in visual design methods, such as state machine diagrams.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
