Residential Care Worker (Weekends Only) Hours: 39 hours per week (Weekends only), 39 weeks per year term time only Service: Weekend Short Breaks / Respite Provision Shift Pattern Weekly CPD: Tuesday or Thursday, 14:15–15:15 Friday: 14:00–22:00 (sleep‑in) Saturday: 07:30–22:00 (sleep‑in) Sunday: 07:30–22:00 (sleep‑in) Monday: 07:30–09:30 Rota: Weekends only, no working on school holidays and home weekends (1 every 3 weeks) You’ll bring: Experience supporting children or young people A caring, resilient and positive approach A commitment to learning BSL (we’ll train you) Curiosity, teamwork and a desire to develop (Optional but beneficial) a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare. If you’re already qualified at Level 3, fantastic. You’ll be: Supporting young people to build confidence and independence Organising and taking part in social activities — from beach trips to bowling, cinema outings, local activities and adventures further afield Creating a positive, nurturing environment where young people can thrive Working closely with residential, education and therapuetic teams to support each student’s goals What you’ll bring: A caring, positive and proactive approach A commitment to learn British Sign Language (full training provided) Curiosity, teamwork and a desire to grow professionally Experience supporting children or young people (desirable but not essential) Experience of BSL or a can do attitude to learn BSL alongside your role A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (helpful but not required — we will sponsor you) If you already hold the Diploma, great. The minimum salary for this role with no sleep-in rate applied is £24,823pa (this would apply to those only working the Mon-Fri shift pattern). The salary including sleep-ins may be up to £27,784pa (this includes payment for the maximum amount of sleep-ins possible for those working on full shift pattern), or £29,959pa for those at top of the pay scale.
