An exciting opportunity has arisen on The Elective Care Suite at the Cumberland Infirmary to recruit a highly motivated, flexible Band 7 Ward Manager to join our dedicated team of nurses in order to provide a safe and efficient service to surgical patients. As a unit we currently operate using 16 bed spaces and 5 clinical assessment rooms
We are looking to employ a Band 7 Ward Manager for 37.5 hours per week to join our friendly, efficient and motivated team. If you are interested in leading a team, driving continuous improvement and keen to develop your leadership and management skills whilst being supported by the Quality Matron, then this is an excellent opportunity.
Main duties of the job
You would be expected to manage and provide all aspects of patient care, whilst acting in accordance with the code of professional conduct (NMC) and other professional guidelines.
You will be expected to provide effective clinical leadership to facilitate the delivery of safe, efficient and quality care, liaising with all members of the MDT team. You will ensure that the highest standard of care is delivered to patients, continually improving the service, and co-ordinating the learning and development of all staff within the area.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered nurse with active registration
* Post registration certificate in clinical speciality or equivalent
* NST307 or equivalent
* Management / leadership certificate or equivalent
* Postgraduate certificate in management or equivalent
* ALS provider.
* Further relevant postgraduate development or equivalent
* Essential IT skills (EITS) or equivalent.
Knowledge and Experience
* Roster management
* Clinical supervision.
* Budgetary management
* Leadership role
* Dealing with critical incidents / complaints.
* Patient Care and Public Involvement
* Audit and research in practice.
Skills and Aptitudes
* Continuing professional development with portfolio
* Practice requirements for all nursing staff.
