About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled 3rd Line Support Engineer to join our London-based IT team. This role focuses on resolving complex technical issues, supporting enterprise infrastructure, and acting as a senior escalation point across systems, servers, networking, and cloud environments.
The successful candidate must hold a relevant IT certification (mandatory) and demonstrate advanced troubleshooting expertise within enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced 3rd line technical support for complex infrastructure and system incidents
Act as escalation point for 1st and 2nd line support teams
Administer and support Windows Server environments
Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management systems
Troubleshoot advanced networking issues (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls)
Support and maintain virtualised environments (VMware / Hyper-V)
Support Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud services
Perform system upgrades, patching, and infrastructure hardening
Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions
Maintain detailed technical documentation and system diagrams
Contribute to infrastructure improvement projects
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in IT Support / Infrastructure roles
Proven experience in 3rd Line Support or Senior Infrastructure roles
Strong expertise in Windows Server administration
Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Group Policy management
Advanced networking troubleshooting skills
Experience with virtualisation technologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
Mandatory Certification (At Least One Required)
Candidates must hold an active, verifiable certification such as:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Certification
CompTIA Network+ or Security+
ITIL Foundation (or higher)
VMware VCP
CCNA / CCNP
Certification must be current and valid.
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
Experience with cloud-first or hybrid infrastructure environments
PowerShell scripting or automation experience
Exposure to cybersecurity best practices
Experience in enterprise or regulated industries
Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability systems
