We are recruiting for a Kitchen Porter, to provide support to our catering team, at a corporate site in John Radcliffe Hospital, Headley Way, Headington, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, OX3 9DU. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated catering team, to oversee all kitchen logistics, cleaning and maintenance.
You are responsible for assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas. Ensuring that all deliveries are put away, and stock correctly rotated. You will maintain the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCAP regulations. You are required to wash dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, crockery, serving utensils, serving dishes, containers, tables, and all other catering equipment. You will always keep the kitchen floor area free of hazards. You will sweep and mop the kitchen floor daily. You must ensure the food storage areas are kept clean and well organised. You will keep walls, work surfaces and floors clean and sanitised.
You are required to clean on a daily basis all catering areas and equipment to high standards. You will undergo on and off the job training sessions as required by Autograph management. You must inform the Kitchen Porter Manager of any defects identified in light or heavy equipment or of premises not meeting Health and Safety and/or Food Safety Standards.
All other related duties as are required to ensure the kitchen is in a clean and hygienic condition and that the food service is effective and efficient. You will develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and customers and will undertake any other duties that may be required for the effective operation of the catering establishment.
Mitie is looking for previous experience advantageous., however training will be provided. You will have a good standard of personal hygiene. Previous training in Food Safety and Health & Safety or willingness to be trained in these areas. You must have good communication skills and demonstrate your ability to work as part of a team in a pressured in a fast paced environment.
