What You Can Expect As the Strategy & Planning Assistant, you'll become a key contributor in ensuring that capital investment projects are set up and controlled effectively from day one. Your work will directly support senior leadership discussions, strategic forums, and high‑value decision‑making processes. From setting up projects in SAP to supporting governance committees, you'll play a vital role in keeping the organisation's transformation agenda running smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities You will be trusted to deliver high‑quality support across project controlling, governance, financial oversight, and strategic planning: Project & Financial Control Set up new projects in SAP and act as first‑line approver for project owner orders Track project spend from initiation to closure, ensuring accurate forecasts and timely updates Monitor all shopping carts, including value, purpose, invoicing timelines, and justification Maintain tight financial discipline across capex processes Ensure all documentation and reports are completed and up to date Governance & Stakeholder Support Attend SIC and MIC meetings, capturing minutes, actions, and decisions Prepare structured updates, insights, and data for leadership forums Organise strategic planning meetings: agendas, materials, follow‑up actions Support regular reviews of project risks, progress, and financial performance What You'll Bring Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities High attention to detail across spend tracking, documentation, and forecasting Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with project owners, finance, engineering, and leadership teams Confident user of Microsoft Office, with solid data understanding Experience with SAP and Excel is ideal (or willingness to learn quickly) A proactive, structured, and cost‑conscious mindset Ability to produce professional presentations for a range of audiencesRelevant qualifications are welcome but not essential.
