Title: Assistant Design & Technical Coordinator
Contract Type: FTC, Full Time, 35 hours per week
Salary: Starting from £35,323 per annum, dependant on experience
Reporting Office: Manchester, Trafford
Persona: Site Based Worker – contractual hours to be worked from allocated site(s), with ad hoc office attendance as required

Responsibilities
* Support Technical Managers in managing the design process for allocated projects, ensuring design and technical issues are resolved within agreed resource allowances.
* Assist with the appointment, coordination, and ongoing management of external consultants.
* Review consultant tenders and support quality assurance of drawn and technical information.
* Coordinate information flow and data management to support reporting and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
* Attend and contribute to Design Team Meetings, ensuring actions and information are clearly captured and followed through.
* Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure projects meet agreed objectives, timescales, and regulatory requirements.
* Support health and safety risk appraisals and ensure developments comply with Building Regulations and relevant technical standards.
By supporting the design progression from inception through completion, you’ll help ensure L&Q delivers safe, sustainable, and high‑quality homes.
Qualifications
* Experience working on residential development projects within a contractor, developer, or housing environment.
* Understanding of the technical design process and the full development lifecycle.
* Experience coordinating consultants and managing deadlines across multiple workstreams.
* Ability to review and check the quality and accuracy of technical and drawn information.
* Knowledge of Building Regulations and awareness of renewable technologies.
* Strong organisational and planning skills, with attention to detail and an understanding of programme management.
* Good communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with consultants, site teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
* IT skills including AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and email (experience with project planning tools is desirable).
* Educated to degree level or equivalent or working towards a relevant professional qualification (desirable).
