A quick look at the role
The Senior Traffic Dispatcher will manage the daily operations of the Depot, including vehicle allocation and routing, to ensure top-tier service delivery. Responsibilities include maintaining health & safety standards, environmental and O licence compliance, supporting employee engagement, and continuous improvement in productivity and service quality.

* Manage route efficiency and utilize optimal disposal outlets to ensure effective vehicle and facility use.
* Coordinate driver availability and coverage in compliance with legislation and company policies.
* Perform administrative duties, including inputting pay, bonuses, and disposal information into company systems.
* Proactively manage vehicles, liaising with the fleet team, ensuring safe operations, wheel security, and monitoring vehicle weights.
* Supervise daily vehicle availability and driver checks according to company policy.
* Contribute to cost control by analyzing depot reports and seeking efficiency improvements.
* Complete administrative tasks such as timesheets, tachograph records, payroll, holiday rotas, and QLS resolution.
* Work with the Depot Manager to deliver mandatory training, inductions, and toolbox talks.

Requirements
Here’s what we require:
* Experience in Health & Safety management.
* Knowledge of current and upcoming environmental and health & safety legislation.
* Experience managing in a labor-intensive, multi-shift environment.
* Minimum GCSEs or equivalent in Maths & English.
* Experience in a similar role within the services or logistics industry.
* Local geographical knowledge.
* Strong transport and logistics knowledge.
* Experience in first-line operational management.
* Articulate, confident, and assertive communication skills.
