A client I'm working with is recruiting for a skilled and dedicated Housing Officer to join a busy housing team in Gloucestershire.
In this hands-on, field-based role, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload, handling complex tenancy matters, and providing excellent service to our residents.
Working pattern: 4 days p/w in the office
Key Responsibilities:
Tenancy Management
* Oversee a range of tenancies, ensuring tenants comply with the terms of their agreements.
* Carry out tenancy audits and property inspections.
* Address general tenancy-related queries and casework.
Income & Arrears Management
* Monitor rent accounts and take necessary actions to recover outstanding payments.
* Assist tenants experiencing financial difficulties, providing support and directing them to appropriate services.
Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)
* Investigate and manage ASB issues, working closely with tenants and other partners.
* Take appropriate enforcement action when required, in line with policies.
Safeguarding & Support
* Manage and support complex cases such as hoarding and vulnerable tenants.
* Collaborate with external agencies like the police, mental health services, and adult social care to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
Customer Service & Operational Support
* Provide phone support, responding to tenant inquiries efficiently and professionally.
* Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of cases and interactions.
* Ensure all activities align with company policies and procedures.
Essential Criteria:
* Experience as a Housing Officer within a UK Local Authority setting.
* Solid background in tenancy management, rent arrears recovery, and ASB case management.
* Proven experience handling complex cases, including vulnerable tenants and hoarding situations.
* Strong ability to work independently within a designated housing area.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience collaborating with partner organizations such as social services, the police, and mental health teams.
