What You'll Be Doing:
As a Customer Service Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for a wide range of customer enquiries across services such as:
* Council Tax
* Benefits
* Social Services
* Environmental Services
* Registrars, and more
You’ll handle queries through various channels including:
* Telephone (inbound and outbound)
* Face-to-face interactions
* Email and Webmail
* Live Chat
* SMS/Text Messaging
Your role will be focused on delivering outstanding service and support, resolving issues efficiently, and signposting where necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide a professional, friendly and responsive service to all customers
* Understand customer needs and resolve or escalate enquiries as appropriate
* Accurately handle and log sensitive information in line with council procedures
* Manage more complex or sensitive interactions with empathy and confidence
* Take payments (cash, card, postal), handle remittance, and perform daily banking tasks in line with financial regulations
* Stay up to date with policies, procedures, and systems through ongoing training
* Work both independently and collaboratively to meet individual and team targets
