About the Role:
Jameel Motors, in partnership with Chinese automaker GAC, is proud to introduce the AION range of electric vehicles to the UK market. This marks GAC’s first entry into the region, launching with the AION V SUV and the AION UT hatchback.
As Jameel Motors partners with GAC to bring their innovative range of vehicles to the UK market, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical & Warranty Manager to join our team. This pivotal role will oversee all technical operations and warranty processes, ensuring exceptional service standards and customer satisfaction across our dealer network.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified master technician with strong leadership skills and a passion for automotive excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage all aspects of technical support and warranty administration for GAC vehicles across the UK dealer network.
* Develop and implement warranty policies, procedures, and claims processes in line with GAC standards and UK regulations.
* Oversee the correct use of the warranty budget.
* As the brand grows in the UK, to recruit and manage the warranty advisor team.
* Act as the primary technical liaison between Jameel Motors, GAC, and dealer service teams to resolve complex technical issues and ensure timely claim approvals.
* Provide training and technical guidance to dealer technicians and service managers to maintain high-quality repair standards and product knowledge.
* Monitor warranty trends, analyse data, and report on technical performance to recommend improvements and support continuous product development.
* Oversee the day-to-day relationship with the 3rd party roadside assistance provider to ensure that the provider is equipped to meet the needs of the customer.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, warranty regulations, and manufacturer protocols.
* Support launch activities for new GAC models, including diagnostics, technical bulletins, and troubleshooting documentation.
Candidate Profile:
* Proven experience in a senior technical or warranty management role within the automotive industry.
* Previously a Senior Technician or qualified Master Technician with a passion for EV’s
* Strong understanding of warranty claim management systems, automotive diagnostics, and repair procedures.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
* Familiarity with UK automotive regulations and standards related to warranty and service operations.
* Experience working with Chinese automotive brands or new vehicle launches is advantageous but not essential.
