The Role:
As Project Specialist you will be responsible for the control and delivery of customer projects of
varying size and degrees of complexity. You will be accountable for ensuring that these projects are delivered, to scope, on time and within budget utilising project management disciplines, standards, and industry best practice.
Your role will be to deliver a range of services, including (but not limited to):
• Use standard project management disciplines to plan, implement and deliver projects to scope, on time and within budget, with low risk and no surprises.
• Negotiation with team leaders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and accurately to ensure customer satisfaction and value for money.
• Leverage the skills and capabilities of the Datacentre Managed Services (DCMS) team to deliver projects to required and agreed standards within challenging conditions and timescales.
• Provide control and tracking documentation for all projects to enables accurate financial trading.
• Attendance at project meetings, e.g. early engagement, clarification calls, kick-offs, etc.
• Produce project forecasts, resource planning, RAID logs and reporting.
• Responsibility for customer engagement and satisfaction
• Strategy planning for future projects
Role & Responsibilities
• Responsible for the efficient management of projects undertaken by the Serverfarm DCMS team.

• Produce timely and thorough proposals, ensuring all required technical input has been fully scoped and outlined and content is compliant for customer commercial approval.
• Provide thorough stakeholder analysis and engagement, prior to the implementation of any project.
• Attend project meetings, e.g. early engagement, clarification calls, etc.
• Provide thorough stakeholder analysis and engagement, prior to the implementation of any project, e.g. project Kick-offs, etc.
• Attend offsite customer meetings and workshops and add value for the benefit of Serverfarm and the success of the project.
• Produce project documentation to ensure scope, responsibilities, costs, and timescales are communicated and agreed with the customer prior to commencement.
• Communicate project requirements to the DCMS team and ensure a good understanding from all members, especially where their involvement is required.
• Manage project tasks, timeline, and resource plans.
• Create and manage a Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAID) log and ensure that risks are understood, mitigated where possible and reported on as agreed within the project.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered with a focus on Health and Safety first, ensuring risks are identified and removed where you are in control.
• Undertake site visits to oversee project deployment to ensure delivery as planned, validate quality, compliance, and alignment to Serverfarm and customer expectations.
• Where dependencies are not met by other stakeholders, causing delay in the delivery of Serverfarm scope of work, ensure project risk are raised with the customer via the standard ‘Risks and Issues’ process.
• Report on project progress and chargeable elements to ensure accurate and timely financial trading.
• Understand, document, and manage all financial requirements and ensure payment of project invoices.
• Understand financial targets of the business and assist in increasing revenue and margin
by identifying other project opportunities for Serverfarm, within the customer or their supplier networks.
• Develop and evolve relationships with all key customer stakeholders.
• Gain a thorough understanding of the capabilities of Serverfarm to enable the delivery of a broader set of services to our customers.
• Assist the Contracts Manager by reporting on Highlights, Lowlights, Challenges and Priorities to showcase project achievements and improvement areas.
• Report all new customer opportunities to the Management Team, which would enable extension of our service offerings to customers and/or enhance our team’s skill sets.
• Assist in the alignment of future staffing plans to strategies and future projects.
• Provide customer mentoring and guidance to improve project alignment and efficiencies.
Your Profile
• Proven experience in planning, controlling tasks and managing resource in delivering customer requirements in dynamic, fast-paced and time critical environments, ensuring clear direction.
• Highly collaborative, demonstrating stakeholder engagement, effective leadership, results driven and personable across internal and external teams.
• Ability to develop and maintain productive and fruitful relationships with customers at all levels.
• Ability to work alone or play a pivotal role as part of a team with customer, partner, or supplier personnel.
• A flexibility and willingness to travel between Serverfarm and customer locations or sites, as required by the Serverfarm team or projects.
• Confidence to challenge and influence project team members and senior management to ensure alignment with standards and best practices.
• Proven capability to managing ever changing priorities, take ownership of challenges and solve problems across multiply conflicting project demands to ensure most effective and efficient resolutions.
• A desire to exceed customer expectations.
• Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication and organisational skills, managing own tasks and advising other team members.
• Be able to present information efficiently with effective results using Microsoft suite of tools including MS project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
• A general determination and persistence to proactively achieve and improve processes to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• An ability to generate ideas and persuade others to adopt or build on them.
• Thorough understanding and proven experience with project management disciplines including PID’s, critical paths, RAID, resource planning.
• Good understanding of data centres and IT environments, or a minimum of 3yrs knowledge in this industry.
• Good understanding of critical infrastructures, mechanical and electrical
• Excellent understanding of Health and Safety Management and Control, with an awareness of The Health & Safety at Work Act.
• Evidence of effective procedure writing and LEAN methodology
• Qualifications & Experience
• GCSE level passes in mathematics and English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Attended certified Project Management training.
• Demonstrable understanding of Project Management and Project Control.
Would be desirable:
• An understanding of the complexities of structured cabling, including fibre and copper.
• Knowledge of the IMAC process would be an advantage, as this can be complex process.

Security Clearance & Additional Details
To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.

Hours: Generally 40 hours per week
Salary range: £30,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)
