About the Company:
My client is a leading provider of wastewater treatment and pumping systems, offering design, installation, maintenance, and turnkey solutions across the UK. The team delivers innovative and sustainable engineering solutions to clients in the water, utilities, and environmental sectors.
About the Role: We are seeking a multi‐skilled Engineer with either an electrical engineering background with mechanical understanding, or a mechanical engineering background with basic electrical knowledge. The successful candidate will work within our Engineering Team on installation projects, commissioning, electrical and mechanical fault finding, and emergency breakdown repairs. The role is varied and predominantly based across the South East (Kent, London, Essex, Sussex, Hampshire). Candidates with an electrical bias must hold a recognised electrical qualification and 18th Edition. SSSTS is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
Installation & Commissioning
* Lead or support installation works on wastewater treatment and pumping assets, covering both electrical and mechanical elements.
* Commission new systems, including pumps, blowers, control panels, instrumentation, and treatment equipment.
* Perform functional testing, verify correct operation, and ensure compliance with standards and UK regulations.
* Troubleshoot and resolve electrical or mechanical issues during installation and commissioning phases.
Maintenance & Technical Support
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems across wastewater treatment sites.
* Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
* Provide technical support to field engineers and clients, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
* Assist with optimisation of treatment processes and equipment performance.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Follow client safety procedures at all times.
* Ensure all work complies with BS7671 (for electrical tasks), relevant mechanical standards, and environmental regulations.
* Complete site inductions, toolbox talks, RAMS, and safe systems of work documentation.
* Maintain clean, safe, and compliant work areas.
Reporting & Documentation
* Produce accurate job records, including service reports, commissioning logs, measurements, and photographic evidence.
* Communicate clearly with project managers, supervisors, and clients regarding progress, issues, and recommendations.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of installation, maintenance, and engineering procedures.
