Responsibilities
A trained, supportive person who performs selected technical and non-technical functions, not requiring professional judgment, under the general direction of the Supervisor and under the immediate of a staff pharmacist.
Compensation
Salary information is provided for transparency. The compensation range is:
* Non-certified technician: $17.63 - $18.16 hourly
* Certified technician: $19.84 - $31.62 hourly
Garnet Health provides a compensation range to comply with New York State salary transparency laws. The range may vary by location, specialty, years of experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum Experience: Demonstrates knowledge of mathematical skills including weight and measure calculations, percentages, division, and decimal manipulations; general data entry skills; excellent written and verbal skills; experience in a health care environment preferred.
Required Certification/Registration: Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and NYS Pharmacy Technician license and registration preferred at hire. If not possessed at hire, must attain within one year and maintain for the duration of employment.
Physical Requirements
Position is light work requiring lifting up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Long periods of standing or walking. Requires spoken communication. Work week is variable.

* Environmental Demands: Clean, well-lit facility; no routine exposure to hazards; may have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, noise, or other hazards related to performance of duties.
* Physical Demands: Ability to perform full physical tasks; dexterity to operate computer and office equipment; ability to lift 25 lbs.
* Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize information, multi-task, and pay attention to detail; may be subject to irregular hours including evenings or weekends as needed.
