Senior Network Engineer

Working pattern: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000, plus Company Bonus and Benefits

Responsibilities
* Architecting, configuring and deploying scalable and secure network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN) to support business operations
* Continuously monitoring network health, analysing traffic patterns and troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime
* Implementing and managing firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to safeguard network integrity and data privacy
* Serving as the escalation point for complex network issues, providing expert‑level troubleshooting and resolution
* Maintaining detailed documentation of network configurations, topologies, and incident reports to support audits and future planning
* Work cross‑functionally with IT teams and vendors, and mentor junior engineers to ensure alignment with strategic goals and best practices
Our Ideal Candidate
* Proficiency in designing and implementing complex LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN infrastructures using Cisco, Juniper, or similar technologies
* Proven diagnostic skills with tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Nagios to monitor and resolve latency, outages, and bottlenecks
* Ability to lead LLD creation and contribute to HLD reviews
* Previous experience working with Juniper and FortiGate products
* Expertise in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and enforcing network security policies
* Ability to resolve high‑level network issues and mentor junior engineers through complex problem‑solving
* Desirable background in UK Defence (Army, RAF, Royal Navy)
