We are seeking a dedicated Butchery Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation and presentation of high-quality meat products in a busy food production environment. Responsibilities
* Assist with the butchery and preparation of various meat cuts according to company standards
* Support the food production process by preparing ingredients for further processing or sale
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
* Operate specialised equipment safely and efficiently under supervision
* Ensure all products are stored correctly, adhering to temperature and hygiene protocols
* Assist with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste
* Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during food handling and preparation
* Delivering food locally
Requirements
* Previous experience in food production, culinary arts, or a related field is preferred but not essential
* Knowledge of butchery techniques and food safety standards is highly desirable
* Experience working in a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous
* Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
* Good understanding of hygiene practices and food handling procedures
* Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to busy work environments
* Full driver's licence
