Offer description

Welcome to Leith Hill School

We are a co-educational specialist day school for pupils aged 7 to 16. With autism and/or ADHD as a primary need, our pupils are likely to have co-occurring social, emotional and communication difficulties and other associated needs which may affect their wellbeing and enjoyment of learning. At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to making a meaningful, lifelong impact on our pupils' lives.

Our aim is to inspire ambition, build resilience, and foster a love of learning. Pupils benefit from the support of a dedicated team of highly qualified teachers, therapists, and other professionals who collaborate closely to create personalised learning and therapy plans tailored to each child's needs. In addition to academic achievement, including the attainment of national qualifications such as GCSEs and equivalent, we emphasise emotional wellbeing, resilience, and the development of social and independent living skills.

With a school culture that prioritises pupil and staff wellbeing, we offer a supportive and inclusive environment where people work collaboratively to embrace the 4C's : confidence, competence, creativity and character. Benefits include pension, on-site car park and free lunch. A comprehensive CPD program is being developed.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new school school assisting with the preparation and serving of an inclusive menu ensuring that the diverse needs of pupils and staff are met. Core services will include breakfast, lunch and break time snacks.

* food preparation and cooking
* general kitchen duties
* maintaining high standards of presentation of food and replenishing counters keeping them looking attractive throughout the service time
* allergen control
* serving, clear down and cleaning
* assisting with inventory management
* putting away deliveries

This is a full time (40 hours per week) position working for 39 weeks per year (we follow the Surrey term dates plus 5 INSET days). Consideration will be given to requests for part time working with a minimum of 30 hours per week over 5 days.

You

You will be an experienced assistant chef or kitchen assistant, ideally with an education or B&I background and will have a good understanding of health and safety and allergen management. You will share our passion for ensuring that each pupil is recognised as an individual and treated with respect. Good communication skills are essential.
