An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and competent for a Full-time Triage Ward Clerk Administrator, this is a new trialling position, fixed term contract for 8 months (with the potential of being extended) - to provide comprehensive administrative support and excellent customer service within Maternity Triage in the Women’s Health Department at the Royal London Hospital. This post comprises 37.5 hours per week, including covering weekdays and possible weekends. The working hours will vary between 10am – 6pm/12pm – 8pm (and may vary with discussion of service needs).
You will have previous administrative experience in a customer service environment and possess excellent communication skills both on the telephone and face-to-face. You must have good organisational skills and be able to work under pressure, prioritise workloads and work to deadlines. The ability to work successfully as part of a team is essential for this role and you must be comfortable liaising with staff at all levels.
The post holder will be required to operate the information system to accurately process invitations, appointments and results in line with programme policies and procedures. The post holder will need to be part of the validation process in ensuring that screening results are managed appropriately and will be responsible for recording information and updating manual and computerised data systems relating to results and patient outcomes. The post holder will also be the first point of contact for patients and Health care professionals.
This is a busy role and attention to detail is essential, you will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to maintain accuracy while dealing with many interruptions.
An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Outlook and Excel is required.
Main duties of the job
The aim of the role is to provide professional administrative support to the Maternity Triage Department Team ensuring the provision of an excellent “front of house” and administrative service. In conjunction with the medical and nursing team provide seamless care for the Trust’s patients ensuring that all patients, relatives and visitors to the department are dealt with in a courteous manner at all times. You will operate as an effective interface between clinical teams and patients ensuring effective communication and the management of the Trusts clinical systems.

Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent in English and Math’s
* NVQ Business Administration level 3 or equivalent experience
* European Computer Driving License [ECDL] or equivalent
Experience
* Significant experience of working in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
* Demonstrable experience of administrative & secretarial work
* Experience of using a clinical management information system database
* Experience of dealing with a range of difficult or challenging situations both on the telephone and in person
