A well-respected specialist education setting in Beaminster is expanding its team due to increasing pupil numbers and is looking for a compassionate Childcare Assistant to support children and young people aged 2–18. The school provides tailored support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including moderate to severe learning difficulties, communication needs, and complex additional needs. This nurturing setting is known for its dedicated staff team, inclusive ethos and commitment to helping every pupil develop independence, confidence and life skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Your Responsibilities
* Support pupils aged 2–18 with SEN and additional learning needs
* Provide 1:1 and small group support throughout the school day
* Assist with personal care and daily routines where required
* Encourage pupils’ communication, independence and social development
* Work closely with teachers and specialist staff to create a positive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 6 months childcare experience, ideally supporting children with SEN needs
* A patient, caring and proactive approach
* Understanding of child development and learning support
* English and Maths qualification equivalent to Level 2 (GCSE grade 4/C or above)
* Ability to work well as part of a supportive team
