Volunteer development co-ordinator

Eastleigh (Hampshire)
Home-Start Southern Oxfordshire
Posted: 21 July
Offer description

We are a charity supporting families with young children through home-visiting and group work. Our trained volunteers provide regular practical and emotional support to families who are experiencing stressful or crisis situations, or need some help to give their children the best possible start in life. We have been running for 35 years.

We are looking for a person with a strong belief in the value of volunteering to join our supportive team of six part-time employees. You will take responsibility for the effective recruitment, training, support and development of volunteers to help meet the demand for our home-visiting service. You will seek opportunities for promoting volunteering, and work to increase the diversity of our pool of volunteers.

You will manage your own small caseload of families who are supported by a home-visiting volunteer. All staff have regular supervision sessions with their manager.

Our ideal candidate will:

* have excellent people skills
* be able to encourage and motivate others
* be confident in using IT and social media to recruit volunteers
* have an understanding of vulnerable families’ needs
* have knowledge of safeguarding procedures

We offer 8 paid Public Holidays and 24 days paid leave per annum pro rata, on-going training, and free on-site car parking.

Apply at our website: www.homestart-southernoxfordshire.org.uk/about-us/#vacancies

Closing date and time for applications: Tuesday 1 April 2025, 9am

All applications must be made on our application form.

Applicants must have use of their own transport, for which expenses will be paid.

We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults, and we expect all employees to share this commitment. Our aim is that our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. We welcome applications from people with disabilities, and applicants can request reasonable adjustments to enable them to complete the recruitment process.

The post is subject to an enhanced level criminal records and barring check through the Disclosure & Barring Service.
