About the Role
The Woodbridge Family Centre is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and proactive Caretaker to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks at our residential sites located in Milton Keynes and Northampton. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the service delivery for children and families we work with, enabling them to continue living in a well-maintained, safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
* General grounds maintenance, including grass cutting and hedge trimming where necessary.
* Undertake and record regular checks on fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, playground equipment, legionella risks, etc.
* Undertake a range of maintenance duties as directed by the Centre Managers, that contribute to the maintenance of the premises (eg carpentry, plumbing and decorating.)
* Create and manage a rolling decoration program to be planned and completed.
* Manage contractors on site when carrying out repairs and maintenance, monitor the safety of their working practices/quality of work.
* Always ensure safe pedestrian access, including keeping paths and entrances clear of leaves and moss, as well as gritting and snow clearing during severe weather.
* Carry out any other reasonable activities as requested by the Centre Managers.

Experienced multi-skilled maintenance operative
Able to work effectively without direct supervision
Organised, pragmatic, and solutions-focused
Desirable -
Previous experience in a similar role
Due to the nature of the role, the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure must be undertaken (DBS).
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
