Are you ready to shape the digital future of education?

We’re looking for an inspiring and strategic IT leader to join our senior leadership team as Director of Information Technology — a pivotal role leading digital innovation across our Education provision.

This goes beyond an operational IT post. It’s an opportunity to drive transformational change that directly improves teaching, learning, student experience, and organisational digital performance.

You’ll work at senior leadership level to develop and deliver the College Digital Transformation Strategy, ensuring our technology, systems, and cyber security services are modern, resilient, inclusive, and future-focused.

Benefits

We know that great leaders thrive when they have flexibility, support, and a healthy work-life balance. That’s why we offer:

  • Hybrid working with flexibility to support work-life balance
  • 40 days annual leave PLUS statutory bank holidays
  • Closure period over the Christmas period
  • Opportunity to join one of the largest pension schemes in the UK - Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), providing a defined benefit pension plan
  • Ongoing professional development and leadership support
  • The opportunity to make a lasting impact on learners, staff, and communities

Responsibilities

About the Role: Reporting to the Vice Principal / Deputy Chief Executive, you will provide strategic leadership for IT, digital services, cyber security, and systems development across the College.

You’ll collaborate closely with governors, senior leaders, curriculum teams, and external partners to ensure our technology infrastructure enables excellence, innovation, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the College’s IT and digital transformation strategy
  • Ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing digital services across FE, HE & Apprenticeship provision
  • Drive major systems and infrastructure change programmes
  • Champion cyber security, digital accessibility, and innovation
  • Oversee IT budgets, supplier relationships, and procurement activity
  • Develop and lead a high-performing IT team
  • Provide strategic reporting and assurance to Executive leaders and Governors

Qualifications

About You: You’ll be a confident and collaborative senior leader with a strong track record of delivering digital transformation within a complex organisation.

You will bring:

  • IT or digital leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of cyber security, governance, and compliance
  • Experience within FE, HE, public sector, or similarly complex environments
  • The ability to translate technical information into strategic insight
  • A values-driven, learner-focused approach
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills

Join a College That’s Investing in the Future

This is an exciting time to join Myerscough as we continue to invest in digital innovation, modern learning environments, and sector-leading technology services.

If you’re passionate about using technology to transform education and want to lead meaningful change in a supportive and forward-thinking organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
