We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school based in Salford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to supporting young people in their education and personal development.
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. You will provide classroom support, behaviour mentoring, and pastoral guidance to ensure all pupils can achieve their full potential.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting
* Experience supporting secondary-aged students
* Youth work experience
* Experience working in summer clubs, sports holiday clubs, or similar settings
* SEN (Special Educational Needs) experience
* Pastoral care or mentoring experience
* Strong behaviour management skills
* Confidence building positive relationships with students and staff
* A patient, resilient, and proactive attitude
* Excellent communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting students in lessons on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
* Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery
* Managing behaviour in line with school policies
* Providing pastoral support to students who may need additional guidance
* Supporting students with SEN and additional learning needs
* Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive school environment
