Overview
Utility Arborist role at Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN Distribution). This role is mobile and predominantly field based. Base location options: Reading, Slough, West London or Basingstoke. Your base home location must be within 30 minutes commuting distance of the listed depots.
Working pattern: Permanent | Full Time
Salary: £29,504 - £34,757 plus a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.
Responsibilities
* Be part of a cyclical tree cutting programme to manage trees & vegetation near the distribution network.
* Work with a highly skilled team to evaluate, prepare and carry out tree cutting works on a variety of sites, with safety at the forefront of all activities.
* Cut down or trim trees to minimise risk of power cuts and to ensure safety of the public and the network, including during high winds and storms.
* Collaborate with teams to install the latest technologies and carry out regular maintenance of equipment and vegetation around overhead lines.

You Have
* Previous experience in tree cutting, forestry or arboriculture; similar capacity experience is also considered.
* Relevant NPTC certificate units for the use of chainsaws, and a qualification or certificates including NPTC UA.
* Enthusiasm and drive with a flexible approach to work; ability to adapt to changing priorities and occasional work away from home.
* Experience working with power lines and climbing would be highly advantageous.
* Strong safety culture and adherence to guidelines in all activities.
* Travel is required and you must hold a current driving licence.
