Overview
Cost Manager - Water at AECOM. Location: Cambridge, England, United Kingdom. Hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
* Deliver all aspects of cost management from inception of a project through to completion, working with peers and Directors, client and others as required; including feasibility estimates, cost planning, contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering and commercial awareness, fee generation, risk management, dispute resolution, post contract management (cost reporting), and agreement of final accounts.
* Maintain the highest standards of professional competence in dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the company profile.
* Drive performance standards and technical excellence through effective communication and use of performance management processes and AECOM technical practice networks.
* Develop and maintain good relationships with clients to uphold and increase the firm’s profile as a provider of professional, premium quality services.
* Actively support internal teams and mentor junior staff on technically complex projects.
* Identify marketing opportunities and, where appropriate, bring them to the attention of Directors and the Business Development Department to assist in developing new business.
Qualifications
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Cost Management/Quantity Surveying, ideally on large-scale infrastructure projects.
* NEC4 Project Management Accreditation or willingness to undertake the accreditation training and assessment on joining.
* Experience of cost/commercial management within integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative teams.
* Experience of working within a client organisation or through a colocation/secondment arrangement is beneficial.
* Ability to identify and influence key client stakeholders and build relationships to grow workload/portfolio.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
* Accredited MRICS (or working towards membership).
