Junior Java Software Engineer
This contract role offers the chance to develop your skills as a junior software engineer, working on exciting projects in a collaborative team environment.
Contract Details
Duration: 6 months initially. Rate: £25.00 – £28.00 per hour.
Hybrid working – 3 days per week onsite in Belfast, 2 days remote.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to projects utilizing core technologies, enhancing knowledge in frontend, backend, and database systems.
* Collaborate with experienced engineers to solve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions.
* Learn and adapt to new technologies quickly, showcasing creative problem‑solving skills.
* Bring fresh perspectives to ongoing projects and initiatives, making a real impact.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical experience.
* Familiarity with frontend technologies: HTML, CSS, React.js (including responsive and Material UI components).
* Back‑end development with Java and/or Python.
* Experience with MongoDB database.
* Version control using Git and GitHub.
* Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with infrastructure tools such as Terraform.
* Deployment experience using shell scripts in AWS serverless environments (S3, CloudFront, Lambda).
