An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Temporary Accommodation and Private Rented Sector (PRS) to lead the strategy, procurement, and management of housing supply across North London.
You’ll drive the development and delivery of PRS and Temporary Accommodation strategies, ensuring a balanced, high-quality portfolio of accommodation through acquisition, development, and private sector procurement. The role includes leading innovative projects to ease temporary accommodation pressures, maximising funding opportunities, and ensuring strong financial and service performance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver PRS and Temporary Accommodation strategies.
Secure and manage a balanced accommodation portfolio across council-owned and private sectors.
Lead innovative projects, including repurposing council assets for emergency use.
Oversee budgets, ensuring efficiency and value for money.
Liaise with government departments to secure and manage funding.
Ensure all accommodation meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing service team.
Oversee the Empty Homes Strategy and housing management services for Housing Gateway Limited (HGL).About You You’ll be a strategic housing leader with strong commercial insight, partnership skills, and a proven ability to deliver results in complex environments.
