HEAD HOUSEKEEPER
Job Description
Greycoat Lumleys client in the Scottish Borders are seeking a Head Housekeeper.
Applicants should be able to carry out housekeeping to the highest standard, be aware of the fragility of historic items and be willing to undertake strenuous cleaning.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent individual who enjoys working with the public. Experience in hospitality is an advantage and a meticulous attention to detail. Clean driving licence and car ownership essential.
The housekeeper is responsible for;
1. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the house
2. Welcoming and looking after B&B guests and cooking morning breakfasts (occasional evening meals may be required).
3. Making food and drink orders as required and other sundries required for guests.
4. Overseeing and cleaning bedrooms, laundry and ironing for B&B guests.
5. Supervising the housekeeping team, making up work rotas and ensuring all daily tasks carried out.
6. Working with the event /weddings manager to host weddings and small events that take place in the house.
7. Liaising with office staff and director on bookings and events.
8. Occasional flower arranging in the house for rooms open to the public.
9. Ensuring any general repairs and maintenance required to furniture, décor, etc. reported and carried out.
10. Being aware of security and carrying out regular fire alarm tests in house.
11. Undertaking thorough cleaning of the house during the winter months
12. Maintaining inventory of crockery, cutlery and linen on regular basis.
13. Overseeing evening functions and events in the house and ensuring the house is locked and secure after the guests have left.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 gross per annum
Hours: 40 per week. As this is a live in role hours will vary with some longer days.
Accommodation: Spacious flat on second floor of main house provided free of charge rates and all utility bills paid
