We have an exciting opportunity for a Probation Workers to join our existing Criminal Justice team within Kirklees Integrated Substance Misuse Services. The post will be based in Dewsbury, with co-location with Probation at Probation offices. and the flexibility to work across Kirklees. You will hold a caseload of individuals subject to Probation Community Orders and individuals involved in or at risk of being involved in the wider Criminal Justice system. You will have care co-ordination responsibilities alongside the tasks of recovery planning, risk assessing, risk management planning and client-centered reviews. You will be committed to a positive, holistic and empowering approach to care co-ordination and will work with service users to initiate recovery from drug dependence, to enable service users to build their own recovery capital and to support them to move into long-term sustained recovery and social (re)integration. Where: Dewsbury Hours: 37.5 hours per week Full Time Salary : Point 23-28 - £27,861.26 - £32,002.35, dependent on experience, pro rata if part-time The successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS check and be eligible to obtain HMPPS Enhanced vetting Working alongside our partners such HM Probation Service, Courts, Prisons and West Yorkshire Police you will manage individual’s subject to Probation Orders and/or involvement in the Criminal Justice System. Co-locate with Probation in Probation Hubs Deliver psychosocial interventions to reduce disengagement, reduce harm and associated criminality. Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community Promoting carer, service user and community involvement Providing advocacy for access to partnership services Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination What we are looking for: Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field Have a good understanding of the Criminal Justice System Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others What we will offer you: 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.
