Responsibilities
* Obtain accurate readings from water meters.
* Carry out meter exchanges.
* Collect data.
* Provide excellent customer service and act as the customer champion to ensure service levels are met.
* Complete meter reading operations, maintain accurate records, identify and report maintenance jobs, meter exchanges and potential leaks, and liaise with customers as appropriate.
* Perform non-routine readings and income-related operations, such as flow tests to confirm supply connections, replace lids, complete void inspections, and verify plots to postal addresses.
* Ensure meter exchanges are performed efficiently and cost-effectively, track new and old meters, and maintain stock levels.
* Comply with health and safety regulations, maintain personal and public safety, and contribute to cross-team working and ongoing self-development.
What it takes
* Customer-focused individuals based within 30 minutes of Scunthorpe and surrounding villages.
* A professional image; uniform and a van will be provided.
* Physical capability to walk approximately 3–8 miles per day.
* Ability to use a handheld computer as part of daily work.
* Flexible working hours: 6:30 to 20:00 Monday to Friday and 08:00 to 14:00 on Saturdays, including early starts and late evenings when customers are most likely to be at home.
