Warehouse and Logistics Administrator

£ 12.82 per hour, £ 19.23 per hour over time
Premier Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a fresh produce business in Dartford for an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Administrator.
This role supports the administrative and operational functions of the transport office and yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with drivers, booking transport, unloading vehicles, and maintaining an organised, safe, and efficient yard environment.
Hours:
This is a full-time role based on 45 hours per week. The rota may include weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure operations are carried out without risk to the health and safety of employees and others.
* Escalate any issues beyond authorised limits to the line manager immediately.
* Take responsibility for personal and site health and safety, reporting hazards and unsafe practices.
* Book transport and collate all relevant paperwork.
* Maintain accurate documentation for collections and deliveries.
* Arrange the hiring and de-hiring of trays and pallets.
* Check transport invoices against dispatch records.
* Organise waste collections as required.
* Monitor and manage consumables inventory.
* Receive goods, unload deliveries, and physically check them against paperwork.
* Plan and control yard activities, ensuring efficient use of space.
* Carry out ad-hoc duties as requested by management.
* Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
* At least 1 year of experience in an operational or logistics environment.
* Valid counterbalance forklift licence.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
* Experience working under pressure in a high-standard, busy environment.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Strong planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask.
* Team player with flexibility to manage unexpected changes.
* Understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Familiarity with stock management systems or ERP software such as SAP, Freshware, or D365.
