Your future role
The Elementary Design Unit (EDU) Manager LOB (Life on Board) manages a sub-set of the Train System (TS) metier team activities in accordance with Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD) commitments on the project(s) / program(s). They will ensure the deployment of Alstom processes and tools with the corresponding Engineering instructions inside the team. They will support consistent development of competencies inside the team required for this domain, following the right methodologies and tools as well as the continuous improvement of the TS Metier in collaboration with the TS Metier Manager.
We’ll look to you for:
* Supporting the team in the resolution of technical issues in particular those involving other stakeholders (internal or external) and to support them in the definition of priorities.
* Ensuring the design reviews are prepared and documented as per the project / program schedule and to follow-up the main open actions.
* Managing the development of the team to ensure the adequacy of the capacity vs workload vs skills with the support of the Site TS metier manager.
* Ensuring adequate team resources are appointed to the projects / programs / tenders allocated to the Site.
* Developing an efficient offshore Engineering resource support.
* Supporting Site TS metier manager for the forecast of the Site workload, based on hypotheses provided by the workload manager and identifying necessary resources to secure project QCD commitments.
* Ensuring the Alstom Transport / Engineering rules & processes are understood and applied inside the team
* Reporting on the progress of team activities and alert the site metier manager in case of issue potentially impacting the achievement of the QCD commitment.
* Being a pro-active contributor to the improvement of the TS Metier rules and practices in collaboration with site metier manager and central metier team

* Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Experience in Rollingstock Component engineering.
* Experience in team management or in an engineering lead position.
* Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of rolling stock engineering processes and standards; familiarity with APSYS roadmap and QCD principles.
* Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Clear stakeholder engagement and conflict management.
* Customer Focus & Organisational Skills: Structured, hands-on approach with resilience under pressure.
