This tutoring position is perfect if you’re a newly qualified teacher, teaching assistant, or someone with experience supporting children with additional needs, and you’re seeking flexible work.
In this role, you will be working directly with children who may have additional needs or be in care, providing face-to-face educational support either at their home or nearby locations such as libraries. Essential skills include designing resources tailored to each child’s learning requirements—often focusing on core subjects like Maths, English, and Science—and keeping them engaged throughout the sessions.
The location of tuition will vary depending on the pupil’s needs but will be agreed upon before the tutoring begins.
What qualities are we looking for in a tutor?
* Experience working with children or young people.
* Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons across core and cross-curricular subjects.
* Skills to help pupils catch up academically.
* Capability to manage and apply various behaviour management strategies.
* Monitoring pupil progress to ensure learning goals are met, with feedback provided through assessments.
* SEN experience is preferred but not essential.
To succeed in your application, you will need to demonstrate evidence of these skills and experiences.
