Southern Water is recruiting a Mechanical Process Technician joining our Water Supply Team, to play a vital part in the frontline of our day-to-day maintenance of, and repairs to, Water Supply works, Reservoirs and Water Booster stations to ensure a constant supply of wholesome water to the customers, whilst meeting H&S legislation and achieving budgetary targets. As a Mechanical Process Technician, you will use your mechanical knowledge and experience to ensure that equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, generators, valves and pipework remain operational across the Southern Water region in the water function to ensure that it is operating efficiently and effectively. You will have the scope of opportunity to innovate and introduce solutions, to create continuous improvements into existing processes. This role requires occasional paid out of hours working and during on-call scheduling. Your responsibilities are to include: Fault finding, repair, installation, commissioning and maintenance of mechanical plant. Implement process improvements and solutions or escalating as required.ts. Conduct planned maintenance to Southern Water standards to ensure reliability and accuracy. Respond to faults within Southern Water parameters, as guided by the Regional Control Centre. Providing technical expertise to Internal and External contractors Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner to maintain internal change control standards, ISO9001 accreditation and other systems. To coach and train team members to develop their skills. Skills and experience needed: NVQ3 in mechanical engineering or relevant qualification or time-served apprenticeship. Experience within a process orientated industry such as water utility, petrochemical, electricity, manufacturing or similar. Excellent problem solving and fault-finding skills. Strong documentation and regulatory compliance. Collaborative with good communication skills. Enthusiasm for learning and growth. Full, current UK driving licence. What Do We Offer?
