We’re now looking for a motivated Account Handler (Commercial Insurance) to join us here at the Jensten Group. You’ll be based in our Kidderminster office and mainly working on our Renewals book of business, with the opportunity to work on New Business too. We offer a variety of insurances to our customers, including Motor Fleet, Commercial Combined, Professional Liability, and SME’s.
The main purpose of the role, reporting to a team leader, is to retain & renew clients from the book of business, handle midterm adjustments as needed, and assist with client queries. Key responsibilities include:
* Offering and presenting insurance solutions, including policies and risk management options, to secure renewals and new business.
* Supporting team performance through regular communication with colleagues and managers, raising concerns, and proposing solutions.
* Identifying and pursuing cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, utilizing leads and developing new ways to increase quote volume.
* Achieving or exceeding targets for quotes, sales, and income from all marketing sources.
* Negotiating competitive terms with providers to meet client needs.
* Managing invoicing and credit control for premiums.
* Understanding clients’ business operations, risks, and risk management approaches.
* Ensuring compliance with procedures, customer service standards, and regulations such as FCA.
About you
As an Account Handler, you’ll have excellent communication and written skills, with a keen eye for detail. You should be eager to develop professionally, with opportunities for career progression, training, and development within the insurance industry. You will also have:
o Experience in insurance, especially commercial insurance (essential).
o Relevant qualifications (e.g., Cert CII) or working towards them.
o Excellent telephone manner and ability to build relationships.
o Drive and passion for learning and growth in insurance.
o Previous experience in a similar role working with insurers and clients.
o Ability to use initiative, multitask, and update systems/admin.
o Knowledge of Acturis systems (preferably).
