AK Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join a dynamic team in a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) provision based in Ashington. This rewarding role involves supporting secondary-aged pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and challenging behaviours.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to implement tailored strategies that meet individual needs, helping students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and group support to secondary-aged pupils with SEN.
* Assist in developing and implementing personalised learning plans.
* Support students in managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive behaviour.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff for cohesive student development.
* Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
Requirements:
* Experience supporting students with SEN, particularly ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviours, is highly beneficial.
* A Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or similar is desirable.
* An Enhanced DBS check on the update service is required; if not held, you must be willing to apply through AK Teaching.
