Senior Legal Manager – UK Construction & Technical Operations (12‑Month FTC)
Wrexham (On‑Site/Hybrid) 12‑month fixed‑term contract, extension possible
A fantastic opportunity has opened for an experienced Senior Legal Manager to support major construction and technical operations activities at a large UK manufacturing site. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment and enjoys partnering closely with cross‑functional teams to enable complex project delivery.
About the Role
You’ll provide strategic legal advice and hands‑on support for large‑scale construction projects, fit‑out activities, and UK technical operations. This includes guiding stakeholders through the full contract lifecycle, managing legal risk, and ensuring compliance across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Support & Advisory
* Advise on construction and technical operations matters
* Interpret and apply key contractual provisions
* Communicate legal risks and options clearly to stakeholders
Drafting & Negotiation
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and construction agreements
* Work extensively with JCT and NEC3/NEC4 contracts
* Support agreements related to engineering, procurement, equipment, raw materials, and manufacturing services
Project & Stakeholder Engagement
* Collaborate with procurement, engineering, finance, risk, compliance, IP, and external counsel
* Participate in project and leadership teams to shape commercial and operational strategies
Risk Management & Compliance
* Identify and manage legal risks across project activities
* Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies
* Promote legal awareness and support training initiatives
Legal Process & Knowledge Management
* Maintain and improve contract templates and legal processes
* Provide guidance to internal teams to enhance efficiency and consistency
Experience & Skills
* 5–7+ years PQE with strong UK experience in construction law
* Proven expertise with JCT and NEC3/NEC4 contracts
* Strong negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills
* Ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines
* Clear communicator, proactive mindset, and strong organisational skills
* Comfortable working independently while aligned with a wider legal tea
