We’re working with a well-established, privately owned mechanical contractor delivering a consistent pipeline of smaller, well-run projects across commercial and specialist environments. This is a business that has chosen not to operate in the main contractor world, offering a more flexible, pragmatic, and people-focused approach to project delivery.

The Role
As Mechanical Project Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for the delivery of mechanical projects typically ranging from £50k to £1m. You’ll be involved from initial enquiry and pre-construction through to commissioning, handover, and final account.
You’ll manage multiple projects concurrently, supported by experienced site supervision and a lean, responsive management team.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Construction & Commercial Input
Review enquiries, drawings, and specifications
Support estimating with buildability input, programmes, and logistics planning
Attend pre-start meetings and contribute to project strategies
Liaise with clients and consultants during pre-construction phases
Project Delivery
Overall responsibility for programme, cost, quality, and safety
Manage Mechanical Site Supervisors and subcontractors
Coordinate materials, procurement, and labour planning
Chair progress meetings and maintain strong client relationship
Technical & Handover
Oversee testing, commissioning, and snagging
Ensure handover documentation and as-builts are completed
Close out projects to final account

About You
Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager or Senior Mechanical Engineer
Strong understanding of HVAC and building services systems
Comfortable operating in pre-construction and live project environments
Organised, commercially aware, and confident dealing directly with clients
Practical, solutions-focused approach to project delivery
