Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Courier Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day management of the operations function. This is a hands-on role, requiring leadership and coordination of a team to ensure all shipments are accurately processed and prepared for export, in line with company procedures and strict deadlines. The hours of work are Monday - Friday 12pm - 9pm They are paying a salary of up to £40k per annum doe Key Responsibilities: Oversee the efficient functioning of the operations department, including workforce planning, supplier coordination, and achievement of operational targets. Ensure all shipments are processed according to internal procedures and industry standards. Lead, motivate, and support the operations team, ensuring staff have the necessary skills and training to perform their duties effectively. Collaborate with senior leadership to implement and drive strategic operational improvements. Respond proactively to operational challenges, identifying issues and delivering timely solutions. Maintain compliance with customs and relevant regulatory authorities. Monitor, evaluate, and report on departmental performance. Act as a key liaison with both domestic and international partners. Perform other duties as required in support of the operational function. Skills and Experience: Strong knowledge of the courier/logistics industry, including import and export processes. Proven experience in team leadership and management. Familiarity with customs regulations and ability to prepare import/export declarations. Certification in handling Dangerous Goods (IATA). Valid forklift licence (essential) Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment. Excellent administrative and communication skills. Strong leadership and team-building capabilities. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise, multitask, and delegate effectively. Proficient in standard office software and communication tools.
