Senior Quantity Surveyor - Water / Civil Engineering
An experienced Quantity Surveyor is required to support the delivery of water and utilities-focused civil engineering projects based from St Albans. Projects range from £k to £10m+, delivered under NEC contracts within a self-delivery model.
You will provide hands-on commercial management across live projects, working closely with delivery teams to ensure strong cost control, accurate forecasting and effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monthly CVRs, cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management
2. Cost control and commercial planning across multiple projects
3. Preparation and submission of applications for payment to final account
4. Subcontract procurement, negotiation, valuation and financial management
5. Management of NEC contracts, including cost reimbursable and target cost
6. Administration of change control and compensation events
7. Identification and realisation of commercial opportunities
8. Ensuring compliance with internal commercial processes
About You
Essential
9. HND / HNC / Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
10. Working towards RICS membership
11. Proven civil engineering experience, ideally within water or utilities
12. Strong NEC contract experience (cost reimbursable and target cost)
13. Experience working for a self-delivery contractor
14. Confident producing CVRs, forecasts and cost analysis
15. Structured and progressive career history
16. Strong IT, numerical and communication skills

18. CSCS card
