Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Delivery Manager
with a proven track record in managing digital and technology projects within the UK Government or wider public sector. The successful candidate will take end-to-end responsibility for the delivery of complex programmes, ensuring alignment with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards, and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of digital projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
* Facilitate Agile ceremonies and embed best practices across teams.
* Build, maintain, and manage relationships with senior stakeholders across government departments.
* Remove blockers, manage risks and issues, and drive delivery momentum.
* Ensure alignment with government frameworks, including GDS Service Standards.
* Support teams in adopting a delivery-focused culture while promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
* Manage dependencies across multiple teams and suppliers.
* Provide clear, concise reporting and governance updates.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Demonstrable experience as a Delivery Manager in UK Government or public sector programmes.
* Active
SC Clearance
(mandatory).
* Strong background in Agile delivery, with experience in Scrum, Kanban, or scaled Agile frameworks.
* Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills.
* Proven ability to manage risks, issues, and dependencies in complex environments.
* Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams including developers, BAs, testers, and UX professionals.
* Strong understanding of government delivery approaches, including GDS standards and agile governance.
Desirable Skills
* Experience of delivering large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
* Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or modern delivery practices.
* Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and commercial supplier management within government contexts.
* Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
